The website says the Flix Engine SDK 8 supports the following input formats:
.avi, .dv, .mov/.qt, .mpeg, .mp4, .3gp, .asf/.wmv

I'm having a problem getting asf/wmv and mov/qt to convert.

Are there any special settings or objects I need to use to get these file formats to work?

Got MOV and QT files working, by installing quicktime on my server. The docs say this:

Free Flash 8 Player for previewing SWF and FLV files

Free QuickTime Player 6 (complete installation) for converting/previewing QT, MOV and DV files, certain .AVIs, and image files (JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP, PSD, TIF, TGA, and PIC). Quicktime is also necessary for converting/previewing MP3 audio and MPEG-1 videofiles on the Mac only. (Make sure to use the complete install of the free Quicktime player - it is called the "recommended" install in Quicktime 6 and Quicktime 5 and the "full" install in Quicktime 4, and it is not the default install.

PC Only: Free Windows Media Player (complete installation) for converting/previewing MPEG-1, ASF, certain AVIs, MP3, WMV, WMA, and WAV files

To capture video, you will need a video capture card and video capture software (Flix does not have capture capabilities). Capture cards usually come with some type of capture software.

Although I have windows media player (9 I think?) installed I'm still having problems with WMV's

Anyone?

Hi. Can you give me some more information about the files (i.e., codecs) and your server environment (OS, scripting language, if any, that you're using with the Engine, etc)?

Thanks--
JL

Running Win2K
IIS 5

Only codecs/software other than whats needed for the webserver to run is:

K-Lite Codec Pack 2.71 Full
Windows Media Player 9 Series
QuickTime 7

edit: Converting files to Flash 7 swf not fla's in case you need to know.
