I don't know if this is how it works, but it seems like the Flix Engine loads the entire video file into a swf/flv container, then re-writes it with the audio/video settings you choose. Is this right? I mean I give the engine a 22mb file, and have all my audio and video settings at the lowest. It creates a 25mb swf file, then deletes it and writes a 1mb swf file.
Is this mandatory? Is there anyway to avoid the first file write? When you get into 25-50MB files it can take quite a while to convert them even with lowest quality setting.
Running this on:
Win2K SP4
Quad 2.0 Ghz Pentium 4 Xeon
2GB RAM
Coldfusion MX 7
Running it off this system it still goes super slow in converting, anyone know of any optimal settings for best performance while still maintaining decent quality video?
